Text:
What drives me nuts when it comes to reading subtitles in Japanese from for example an American movie such as "the departed".is the word for word rendition of the dialogues.
Lines such as "I'll waste you" meaning I'll kill you rendered by ...yes nothing .In an other example a translated book from English into Japanese with the most irritating example of "... a piece of cake..." turning into a slice of cake. In the poor world of tranlation for books and or TV ,movies the litteral translation is part of the work ,regardless of time or space limitation .
No legitimate directors deserved this subwork of translation.
