Posted - 01/17/2009 : 09:16:25 I find almost all the job offerings on this site are posted previously at other translator websites. In other words, there is no reason to pay a fee to get access to the jobs here, since they are available free on other sites. |

Posted - 02/02/2009 : 13:03:24 Hi DCode, why dont you first learn more about the site and their members, before putting the bad finger on anyone?
It is certainly great if you verify members, but jobseekers play a special role here and are used from companies, they are not representing own companies.
Just read the news and experience more about them - then you understand their role. I used them myself in the past to look for personal, great service!

Posted - 01/30/2009 : 08:03:55 I am also a new member but am following the job offers closely and my initial impression is that companies posting jobs frequently "Jobseeker_Arabia", "Jobseeker_China" etc. (and then using different e-mail addresses, give the impression of being untrustworthy when you go on to look at the profiles as there are absolutely no details about the company. On other websites the practice of filling in details about the agency is encouraged as this allows potential freelancers to do a background check on the Internet / look at forums, etc. Personally, I have made it a rule of thumb to work only for companies I can "verify" to an extent by checking in this way, and if I am unable to find anything on them, particularly on their profile, I do not bid. I hope I will be proven wrong and will gain some important contacts through this site as one of the other posters has mentioned they have.

Posted - 01/28/2009 : 16:55:42 Hallo Melika, welcome to TranslatorPub.com. Indeed, TranslatorPub is working on a newly system as I was informed. Right now, we will not tell much about it, but it will be very effective and safeguards all interests to its best.
Speaking of other portals - TranslatorPub.com is different than other portals and that is how TranslatorPub.com wants to be understood.
We are for a fair market with fair rules - but are not supporting any diffamation of any kind online. Therefore the local courts are responsible, to take care of legal actions, as we are in no position to take side on either the client or contractor.
This does not mean that we are supporting any illegal actions, but for us it is hard to judge any action we do not have any insights into.
But - as said before, are we working on a new system that will be more beneficial to everyone involved in any project. We will update you soon about it´s features and it´s start date. |

Posted - 01/28/2009 : 16:34:51 Hello, I have recently joined this community and have noticed that there are many job postings from companies that have been banned from other portals. What I am missing is a certain control/feedback mechanism in order to protect the interests of the users.

Posted - 01/21/2009 : 14:37:46 Hi - nice to meet you Traduxtal. I have been a member here from the very beginning and I have to admit that some jobs are posted a few times. This would be a great thing if TranslatorPub.com could automatically prevent companies and clients or colleagues to post the same job more than once.
But - to be honest to you, I have received much more from this site than actually I spent on it. Due to TranslatorPub.com I have an advertising budget of only around 75 EUR. This site brought me 4 new clients, using my services on a long-term basis.
I even have received an annual contract from one of the big agencies posting here! After a lot of administration in the beginning and me being flexible, it paid out very well for me - thx guys!
TranslatorPub is a very young site, and I believe it is good to post your experience here, also if it is not the best impression in the beginning. From my experience Translatorpub and its tech guys are taking things very serious and will work with you to find a good solution.
I would join Translatorpub again and again, as they are taking my personal needs serious.

Posted - 01/21/2009 : 11:58:12 Hello, I'm pretty new to this site, and I have a few concerns about it. First, I can see postings are repeated; e.g for English>Spanish translators I can see at least 15 pages with 15-20 posted ads each, but in fact, many of these ads are the same, and found in different pages. Also, certain e.mail addresses from posters are wrong, since my messages to them bounce back: for example: info@vausys.com;

Posted - 01/18/2009 : 11:32:20 Dear William, I´m very sorry that you dont enjoy TranslatorPub.com. As we are only a platform and do not hold a monopol, translations jobs are certainly also posted at other websites and this is good.
TranslatorPub.com connects translators with clients and vice versa. Therefore we are happy that people are enjoying our service, but their are certainly other good portals out there. |
