My weekend was quite nice - did some work and enjoyed the sun;-)

Yeah - renovation takes up a lot of time.

It was nice but hectic - I've been spending the last week renovating my bathroom. At this point of the project, the bathroom is completely useless. We'll get done with it sometime in the next few days... hopefully!

How was your weekend?

You are very welcome - how is your weekend getting along?

Ooohh - now you have two stars! Way to go - and thanks for the reply.

Hi - they should be arriving immediately after they are sent out.

So, I'm expecting payments via paypal and still haven't received them. About how long did it take before they finally got there?

i had the same problem with paypal...when the person paid with a credit card it took a long time for the payment to go through, and they were local! also they took off 5 bucks!

when i can i use direct bank transfer, but paypal is often the best bet for overseas or out of the country payments.

This is in response to MHA123's question about Western Union. I've used it before and, although I can't remember exactly how it worked, it was pretty easy. The way it works is that the person sending the money gives the amount, via credit card or money order I think, and gives the recipient's full name. Afterward, this person receives a transaction number to be given to the recipient. In turn, when the recipient goes to pick up the money, all that's needed is the transaction number and ID.

Hehe - that is tricky. I know that the company I´m working at had some bad experience with Paypal in the past. They received a payment via a credit card via paypal and the client told paypal after weeks that this was not authorized and booked it back - both money and files were already gone and paypal couldnt do anything about it. This happened with a company from middle east I think :(

Whilst we’re on the subject of electronic pay, how do you guys ensure that the payment goes through after you’ve completed a bigger job? Do any of you give out an equivalent of a receipt? Say for accounts, tax purposes, etc or do you just trust them to be professional/honest and not pay you in potatoes?
Another question is this: As paypal actually charges for business transactions (some people don't know about that) does anyone know any free online equivalents?

Hi all, 2 fast questions I have - dont think I´m ... but

1. Do you know T-Pay and what can you tell me about that?

2. Could you tell me some more about Western Union, especially - what is it all about? How does it work, etc. I see the Western Union symbols quite often, but dont really have a clue about this. Thank you all!

Hi there,
I have been doing online freelancing for 12 years and the only payment methods I know are paypal, moneybookers and then of course wiretransfer and e-mail transfer via banks.
I believe if you have a paypa account and a moneybookers plus your bank account you are covered.
Paypal works for most countries and agencies.
Best of luck to you
Michele

Are there any other Online Payment systems besides Moneybookers and Paypal?

MHA123 Posted - 04/15/2008 : 06:25:29
Thx a lot Stefan.

I´m not sure how it is with fees, you need to check with the website. Or does anyone else has more experience with this?
