I am highly literate but I understand that no translation task should be approached without an open mind with regard to the words used in the original and - more importantly - an open mind with regard to the message intended in the original. When I do translation work I accept it as standard practice to be ready to be creative and innovative (i.e. considering cultural issues) as I speculate with the right level of caution during all stages of the translation process.

Dear translators,
TranslatorPub, TranslatorsBase, TranslatorsCafe and ProZ are all what I call “translation forums” - differing from “translation agencies” such as K International or Language Promotion GmbH. Does anyone know of any good French or German-language ones? I have posed this question in English and French and German.
