It’s that time of the year! As the year is coming to an end, we celebrate Christmas with our friends and family with gifts, lights everywhere, Christmas trees and lovely dinners. There’s something special about this day, like a sense of wonder looking at all the beautiful lights, the decorated Christmas trees and everything.
The truth is Christmas is one huge celebration across the world and there’s always something unique and special about a certain place. They say the best way to discover a new culture is by traveling so, here’s a list at some of the most visited places during Christmas time.
Located in Denmark, the city is a vibrant capital where people set the pace instead of cars so it’s ideal for walking around and enjoying the pre-Christmas activities, the views of the Christmas markets and more.
The city is quite popular for its Tivoli Gardens, which are transformed by half a million lights and thousands of Christmas trees each year to form a delightful symbol of the festivity.
Perhaps the most popular thing about New York during Christmas is the Rockefeller Center. Its famed ice rink has been around for 80 years and the huge decorated tree has been a tradition since 1931. New York is always vibrant and has a wide variety of spectacles such as the annual Christmas Spectacular in Radio City, the Holiday Market in Columbus Circle, on the southwest corner of Central Park and more.
Located in Germany, the Nuremberg Christmas Market receives more than 2 million visitors each year. It has a giant carved wooden Ferris wheel, a steam train and a lovely carousel.
The market displays only traditional handmade toys and holiday goods, which means you will certainly find something unique here.
The French city has a series of themed Christmas villages that transform it into a visual wonderland with amazing food. The city celebrates the Christmas traditions of guest countries each year. The 2017 guest was Iceland.
Hong Kong is the most vibrant city in East Asia for many. Truth is, it wouldn’t let Christmas pass without something big. You can see, eat, and breathe Christmas everywhere. Lights dangle from skyscrapers, shop fronts are bedecked in wrapping paper and Christmas music is always playing though speakers.
Nativity scenes are a big part of Christmas time in here. Each year, residents open their shutters and even garage doors to display their holy crib confections to visitors. On a grander scale, the Bethlehem f'Ghajnsielem is a life-size nativity spread over 20,0000 square meters of formerly abandoned fields. The village takes visitors back to 2000 years ago in Judea, with oil lamps, grazing animals and grotto housing baby Jesus.
